2 Sweet

Hi all!  Seems like my life is about running in circles.  But at least I have got to have a little creative time lately.  I created this Layout using the wonderful Mojo Monday sketch at The Flying Unicorn.  The little bird on the top of the page is an interactive element that moves along the top of the heart. He was also my first attempt at using water color pencils. I just loved these pictures of my precious grandson when he was a baby and his daddy.  I can't believe this little one will turn 7 in just a few days! And when you ask him what he wants for his birthday the only thing he says is ....a caterpillar.  Well we attempted to find the science kit online so he could grow a caterpillar into a butterfly, but it said  the temperature outside has to be above 40F and below 90F.  So this grandma will just have to come up with another idea since the temperatures here have been FREEZING lately.

Okay enough babbling.....here is the sketch and the layout!

You really should check out the sketches she puts up every Monday.  Always inspirational.  Just wish I had more time to play along.
The papers I used were from TPC Studios Little Lovin collection and Making Memories Flutter Collection as well as some brown and red bazzill card stock.  I also used Art Philosophy  and Doodle type Cricut Cartridges.  The little paper buttons are from a Sizzix Embosslits by Stampin Up...however, I think those have been discontinued.  A border punch from Fiskars and EK Success, some twine, and Tim Holtz Antique Linen Distress Ink.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!  And don't forget to check out the new sketch this week!

as always...

Hugs!

Guy's Prom Layout and Tutorial

Hi Friends and family!  I am partaking in a swap over at The Crop Room II.  The winner of the swap asked for a layout for her grandson's prom.  She had several photos and so I wanted to create the space for them as well as enough room for him to journal his evening at the prom.

I created the frame, the border across the middle of the fold out and the tickets from my new favorite Cricut Cartridge Art Philosophy.  I also used my old favorite storybook for the hinges and the gears are from a punch from Stampin Up.   Other products used were: Bazzill Cardstock, Close To My Heart Double sided Cardstock for the fold out, My Mind's Eye Printed Paper, Close to My Heart Mini Brads, Tim Holtz Game Spinner, Tim Holtz Antique Linen and Black Soot Inks.

Would you like to know how I created the fold out?  Here is what I did:

Take a 12x12 piece of double sided cardstock and score at 6 1/4 inches
Turn it 1/4 and score at 3" and 9 ".

Trim approximately 1/16  to 1/8 of an inch off on the score lines at 3" and 9" on the short side, stopping at your 6 1/4 inch mark.
Fold all of these up and then fold your sides in making sure to keep the outer edges aligned.  If the paper tries to buckle when you fold it in you will need to trim off a little more.

Use your corner rounder or Decorative Punch on all the square corners.

Embellish as you wish!

Have Fun!

If you try this would you mind letting me know and telling me where I can find a picture of what you do?  I love seeing what everyone comes up with!

Hugs!

New Baby Card

Well I finally got to get into my room for a little while today and work on a card that a friend asked me to make for her.  I used the Cricut Art Philosophy and Every Day Paper Dolls Cartridge.

I used the Card on the circle2, along with the decorative overlay in the Art Philosophy Cartridge for the base and the top of the card .  I cut these at 5" for the base and 4 3/4" for the top layers. The baby buggy  is from
the Everyday Paper Dolls and it was cut at 2 1/2".

I also added about a yard of ribbon to weave through the holes, a couple of small white pearls on the buggy wheels, and a small heart button. I kept it simple and baby girl looking.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs!

Becky

PS  I forgot to mention that I cut the baby buggy twice and pop dotted it twice to give dimension to the card.

Mariposa Paper Bag Album

Hey there my friends!  Just wanted to share another mini album that I made awhile back.  I used the Die Cuts with a View Mariposa Paper pack to create this one.  As always I just love making mini albums.  I have had some changes come into my life recently that has been keeping me a little busy...but I know things will slow down and I will get into a routine soon.

I hope you enjoy seeing the things I create as much as I enjoy sharing them with you.  I am planning on having another tutorial for you within the next week as well as some more cards to share!

Hope you all have a day filled with beautiful moments!

Hugs!
