Marie Antoinette Shoe Swap

Another month over...I can't believe that fall is already here!  or at least it has felt like it the last couple mornings!  I am hoping for Indian Summer.  Well here is what I created for a invite only swap over at scrapbook.com that was hosted by Martica.  There is a group of ladies over there that call themselves the brat pack divas.  They do some beautiful vintage work and I felt honored to be invited into their swap.

Our swap was to make shoes that would be worthy of Marie Antoinette!  Yes...you read that right shoes fit for a queen.  I feel that with mine one is worthy to go about town and the other although it is pretty would be more for her to lounge around in her own bed chambers with.  This was alot of fun and something very different to try.

So Here are my Shoes!
I have recieved shoes from my partners and will take pictures of those and get them uploaded with a link to where you can see a tutorial and download the pattern to attempt to make these charming beauties yourself!

Another Christmas Card

Well Ladies seems like I so enjoyed making the last card from the sketch that I would do another one using the same papers.  Within the challenge I am in one of the categories is to use the colors: Yellow, Green, Blue, and Red.  Well for those of you that know me I am not a primary color person...and these papers just fit.  So here is card # 2 for the challenge.

I find this so funny...because I have said over and over "I don't do cards!".  And yet what has got me up and creating again.....cards.  Hope you all are having a wonderful summer ....sorry to get us all to thinking about how close we really are to the most wonderful time of the year!

Card Challenge & Sketch

Hi Everyone!  Well I have finally found some mojo!  But I was up way too late last night doing this...and now I don't want  to leave my room!  I did this for the August Card sketch challenge hosted by AuntieT at Scrapbook.com.

I used the Cricut Storybook Cart to cut the Circle at 6".  Then used the Marquee 2 cut at 2 1/4" in Ivory and 2 1/2" in Green.  Added some lace, I want 2 Scrap say it in pearls, Prima Tea Rose Santa Rosa , Postage Stamp punch, Stampology Stamp, Recollections Stamp for the Merry Christmas stamped in Copper and embossed, and an old PSX sticker.  The Background Paper is some Wild Asparagus I have had in my stash forever. I am hoping to make a set of these...they may not all be the same shape...but with the same colors and papers.  Hope everyone has a happy scrappy day!

Sorry you've been waiting so long...

and sorry to say the wait is not over.  :(  I really think that I have figured out what has been bothering me and shutting down the left side of my brain.  I am just too swamped and overloaded at this time to think straight, stop, relax, enjoy.
Last Feb. I volunteered and teamed up with another lady at my church to take over the Women's Ministry.  That would mean there would be 2 leaders to oversee everything and we had a wonderful group of ladies that were on our team.  Well since Feb. we have had 4 of our team members move, one of them is working out of town at the moment, and my co leader has left the position.  Our Ladies events and groups only run throughout the school year.  But with that being said ....school is just a few weeks away.  I have had other women step up to the plate and offer to help...woo hoo!  But being new in this position I am feeling the pressure of getting things up and running.  We also have a more than usual hectic schedule.  We are having a back to school prayer breakfast on Aug. 23rd...which I am so thankful that the person whose idea it was has taken complete charge of this and is handling everything!  Then we are having our annual registration dinner is Aug. 27th.  This is where we have a dinner, introduce the women to what studies, classes and outreach events are going on for the remainder of this calendar year, and this year we have an added bonus event for our state district women's mini conference will be hosted by our church on Sept. 11th.  Don't get me wrong here I am  very excited about all of this happening....just a little overwhelmed with trying to get everything organized within the next few weeks!  So while you are waiting I will try to come across some things that I am enjoying looking at and pass them on to you so maybe you can be inspired.  Thanks for hanging in there with me...and I will be back!!  Hopefully it won't be too long!
