Creativity has left the buidling!

What's a girl to do?  I keep trying to sit down and create...something...anything...and the ideas just won't flow!  I started on some Christmas ornaments...know that they need more to them...but for the life of me I am stumped!  Then of course there is the little mini album that I have been working on for our Disney vacation...it's almost done, except for embellishments...I sit down...look at the page...and again have no ideas as to what I want to do!  I am hoping that this creative slump will become a passe'...am I even using the right word there?  In the meantime  leave me a comment so I know that you are out there waiting patiently for me to get something fun and inspiring going.

Darkside Challenge for July

Hi All!  Here I have another Layout I did this past week for a challenge over at scrapbook.com.  It is being hosted by a scrapper friend, who does some awesome work that is totally different than anything you see!  She is very creative!

You can view some of her work at her blog:

I decided to try her challenge because it would make me think outside my box and try something new!  Plus with it being darkside challenge with words to a song, I felt the colors fit perfectly with my son and daughter in laws wedding and of course there is always that first dance!

I love this picture of them!  Their song was Iris by GooGoo Dolls.  Here is the story behind it...if I get this wrong my daughter in law can correct me.  Apparently on the night of what they consider was their first date, my daughter in law was closing up at work.  Since it was just the two of them,  my son went and played the song Iris on the Jukebox and then took her in his arms and danced with her.  So with this song their relationship began.

Materials used on this Layout are:
Basic Grey BlackTie Background Paper
Die Cuts for Grown Ups for Hearts. ( I had to glimmer mist the red one with Wild Current to get it the deep red I was looking for)
Bazzill Cardstock
Storybook Cricut Cartridge for the photo corners, Plantain Schoolbook Cartridge for Circles.
Stickles in Platinum
Silver Ribbon was used at the wedding as well as the charm and the butterflies
Vellum Quote Unknown purchased at the Dollar Store
Hero Arts Shadow Silver Ink
DMC Embroidery Thread
Close To My Heart Red Ink
Close To My Heart Distressing Tool

Thanks scrapvamp for this challenge!

So my challenge for you today:  do something that forces you to think outside the box and enjoy the creative process!

Pojo's Challenge

Hi Everyone!  Well I have been so busy this month with having grandchildren here...giving lots of hugs and kisses!  They filled my life with so much laughter and fun.  I will share some stories and pictures at another time.

I was asked by a fellow scrapbooker over at scrapbook.com to join a challenge she had for this month on her blog.  She is from Sweden and such a sweet lady.  She gave us a sketch and a color palette to work with.  Her work is amazing and so I felt honored that she asked me to join in.

Here is her blog address:   http://pojjos.blogg.se/

Below is the sketch that was given and my rendition.  I flipped the sketch because of my photo orientation.  This is a picture of my dear son and daughter (in-law), right after the birth of their precious baby boy.  Maybe not one of those wow look at the photography...but who cares...it's all about the moment, a piece of life that was captured.

Hope you gain some inspiration from this or maybe it will just give you a reminder of remember when....
and you can reminisce about that special moment in your life.
