Sketch #180...it's finally finished!

Here is my take on the sketch that I posted a couple weeks ago from Scrapbook Challenges. Iam not real happy with this LO....something just doesn't seem right...but I have left it on my table to look at long enough....so I am calling it done. I know alot of people would tear a LO apart if they are not totally thrilled with it...but I don't. These are various pictures of my dear grandson during his 1st month. I love the one of him and my dh sleeping. I hope that you enjoy it and can get some inspiration out of it!

Create a Card

Well I actually made it into my scrap room today and created a card. I am not a cardmaker by heart, but have a friend that is really encouraging me to try. So here is what I did. I used a piece of lavendar cardstock cut to: 10 1/2" x 7.
I cut a white piece of cardstock using the Cricut Expression, Storybook Cartridge Marquee 1 on Portrait Mode, and at 10". I then ran the white cardstock folded through my Big Shotz Machine using the Texturz Template Love Letter and finished with a lightly chalked edges on the white cardstock. The strip of paper was cut from delish Berry Season Treats paper. I then added a silk rose, a couple buttons, and a piece of Scenic Route Ribbon.

Hope you enjoyed this! We will see if the future holds more cardmaking!

One of those weeks!

I have had one of those weeks that I wanted to be in my room creating everyday....but have not made it in there! I at times am feeling frustrated because I so want to make the time to scrapbook and craft. But I have had to sit down today and really look at what I did create this week in my life. I created a little more tranquil home for me and my husband, I have taken the time to be with just my husband, and I have taken time for friends and in doing so created a piece of background paper with glimmer mist! I also took the time planning for the Women's Ministry. I hope that through this week I have been able to touch someone's life and make their world a little bit brighter. After all that is what is valuable, to reach out and touch someone else.

So the next time you are feeling frustrated that you can't do the things you want to do. Take a minute and look at what you did. Were you able to touch a life and be grateful that you had that opportunity. We get so busy, that sometimes we forget it is the people in our lives that matter the most....not that list of what we want to accomplish.

I am going to keep working toward my creative artistic endeavors....but I must remember what is important along the way.

Hugs!

Have a fabulous week!

What a fun day today was! My husband and I went on a date to dinner and a movie in the city. While there I of course had to go shopping at my favorite stores! I think I have all the cubes I need for the scrap/craft room makeover and move. I am so excited and want to get in there and start organizing and purging! Getting things ready to move! The moving part will be the hard part and full of work. We are moving a bedroom to make room for my new scrap/craft room. But with this move it will be much nicer for guests when they come to visit and maybe me and my husband will spend more time together...well at least in the same room together! He will have his computer in their also, so while he is on his online game and I am creating we will have each other's company....we both have made comments wondering if we can handle this!

The create for today was a deeper relationship with my husband. Creating the time for us to enjoy life together.

How to Un-Create!

Ok...so I said I would create something everyday! Well today was my day to "Un-create"! How do you un-create you may ask...first you have to take all those pretty ornaments that you placed on your Christmas tree in just the right spot and pack them away, then go through your house and find all those pretty baubles that you have decorated your home with and lovingly wrap them to be stored for the next year.

Even in the process of "un-creating" I found that in the end I have created a tranquil home for me and my husband to enjoy!

May today be a day that you create tranquility for those around you!

Hugs!

P.S. Be watching tomorrow for something to create!

Aaah...Sunday!

Aaah...Sunday! The one day of the week I look forward to every week. The day that I really try to set apart and unravel my brain from all the busy-ness of life. This is the day that I can go to the House of My God and really tune in to Him, rejoice with other believers, and get some much needed instruction. Now don't get me wrong here, my relationship with God is not just a one day event for me. But today is different.

Some of us due to work schedules may have to choose a different day. If you are like me your schedule is chock full of things to do and it never seems that there is enough time to get them all done. Do you ever take the time to rejuvenate your body and your mind? We have been instructed to take one day of rest in our week. A day that we can just relax. So go ahead put your feet up, read a good book, watch a movie or go to that special crafting or scrapping spot and enjoy yourself....maybe even take that luxurious long bubble bath! After all no one can do this for you. You must create the time and do it for yourself!

Have a relaxing, peaceful, day of rest!

Hopefully tomorrow I will have something creative to inspire you!

Hugs!

It's a New Year!

Well it is a New Year! The ringing in of a new decade in our lives. A time for us to contemplate on where we have been over the last year and what we would like for our lives in the coming New Year! We have a new year with a fresh slate! Isn't that the greatest? We can reflect, learn from, or rejoice in what has been...and start new each and everyday!

My motto for 2010 is:
CREATE SOMETHING DAILY

Now by creating something that could be anything really.
These are the ways I have thought about creating:

I can create through my love of scrapbooking and crafting
I can create through my journaling and leaving behind those bits n pieces of life that I may not want to forget
or I can create relationships with people, taking the time to listen and enjoy my friends and family.

So you see to create is really about what you want to make it.
And I leave you with this question:

What will you create today?
